Butchers and Burgers

We had burgers today, but they didn't come from the butcher. The mere act of going to a butcher makes me awaken to the new reality that is my world. My world of fresh sliced cheeses - none more than $2.50/lb. Thick cut bacon - $2.25/lb. And you can get tongue and other parts but I'm not that adventurous - yet.

I was torn between making a brinner and black bean veggie burgers with a pasta salad. I felt like the brinner would be more appropriate for the weather, but also the need to rebel and deny the damp, coldness. We ended up with the burgers and pasta which were both delicious and packed with healthy. Healthy being the new noun.

(Note - the recipe's author is nuts. You don't need two bottles of dressing. Unless you want soup.)
