Giant Foods = Great Consumer Policy

We bought strawberries the other day at Giant - the local chain grocery just down the street. (5 minutes by car, 45 minutes by foot - we learned the hard way)
The berries turned to mush the very next day so we drove over and I walked up to the service counter with my receipt and very simply informed them they went bad. They had been on sale 2 boxes for $4. The employee starts counting out money and hands me $16 and change. I didn't understand. Turns out Giant's policy is a 200% guarantee on perishable items. Starting with the non-sale price! $8 and change X two = a whole lot more money than I paid for the strawberries.

We ended up giving $10 of it back on 2 gallons of milk and 2 quarts of half and half.

But I consider that an excellent policy and won't hesitate to shop there AND return anything I consider to be subpar or a waste of our hard earned money.
