Unemployed Seeking Kitchen

I want a kitchen. And all I'm getting is weird landlords on the phone. And apartments I wouldn't let my enemies live in. After utter frustrating over what appeared to be a lack of 1 bedrooms on CL, we discovered a novel source of classified ads - the newspaper! Lancaster is a few years behind the Bay Area in their technological proficiency.

We did some window stalking last night, and now have 2 appts. set up for today and 4 for tomorrow. No matter the exterior, I keep my expectations low for what is housed within the walls. In general landlords seem to have little regard for their property and tenants clearly don't take care of the space.

But, at a 50% discount from SF rent, one can't be too picky.
