Our car is in the shop, and my brother read my mind and put the roast in the crockpot before he left for work this morning, so we have no choice but to spend the day applying for jobs.
Plus One is working on an application for an HR position at a recently opened hotel downtown, and I am finding creative ways to pursue an admin job at the same place. This includes a personal Congratulations (and BTW, hire us!) card to the recently hired Director of HR. Thanks, Google, for helping me find my creative side!
I am also aggressively pursuing skills testing and an interview at a local temp agency who just happens to be a member of a prestigious women-owned business coalition that I worked with at one of my former jobs. It's all about the personal angle and human interest plug.
Sitting across the kitchen table from a stress out Plus One is not conducive to productivity but it's better than the couch I sat on for 8+ hours yesterday.
